For members

If your organisation uses Wiselook and has invited you to take an assessment, this page is for you. It answers the questions people ask most often, in plain language. Nothing here requires any technical knowledge.

If you administer a tenant rather than take assessments, see the FAQs for tenants and For Tenants instead.

What is Wiselook, and what is this assessment for?

Wiselook is an assessment platform. Instead of a form or a multiple-choice quiz, you have a structured conversation with Claire, Wiselook's AI assessment agent, and your answers are turned into a picture of your professional competencies: the skills and behaviours the assessment is designed to measure.

Your organisation chooses which assessment you take. What it measures is defined by a methodology: the set of competencies behind the conversation.

Prefer to watch? In the video intro, Claire, Wiselook's AI assessment agent, explains it in under three minutes (in Spanish, with Spanish subtitles).

Who is Claire?

Claire is Wiselook's AI assessment agent. She runs the assessment as a conversation. She asks one question at a time and adapts what she asks next based on what you have already said.

Claire is software, not a person. There is no human reading along live on the other side of the chat.

How do I get an assessment? I don't see any.

Your organisation assigns them. You cannot create one for yourself. If you are expecting an assessment and your list is empty, ask whoever invited you to Wiselook.

When one is assigned, it appears in your assessment list with a Start assessment button.

How long does it take?

There is no fixed length; it depends on the methodology your organisation chose and on how much detail you go into.

Can I stop and finish it later?

Yes. Use Save and exit. Your conversation is saved and picks up exactly where you left off; you will not be asked to repeat anything.

You can resume from the same list you started from, and from a different device if you prefer.

Why can't I paste text into the chat?

Pasting into the assessment is deliberately blocked, and you will see a short notice if you try.

The reason is straightforward. The results are only useful to you if they reflect how you actually think and communicate. Pasting in an answer written somewhere else (by a colleague or by an AI tool) produces a profile of that source, not of you. There are no right or wrong answers to be caught out on.

Typing, dictation and normal editing are all unaffected; only pasting is blocked.

Is it detected if I use AI to help me answer?

Your responses are analysed for indicators of AI assistance, and the result of that analysis is shared with your organisation. You can see the same indicator in the assessment while you work.

This is stated plainly in the product for the same reason it is stated here. You should know before you start, not find out afterwards.

What happens when I finish?

Scoring runs in the background; it does not happen instantly, but it is usually a matter of a minute or so rather than hours. An assessment moves through three stages: in progress, then scoring, then completed.

Once scoring finishes, your report is available. If you look immediately after finishing and the report is not there yet, refresh the page after a few seconds.

Who sees my results?

You see your personal report. Your organisation's admins, and the manager of any group you are in, see an employer report on the same assessment: an overall level, and strengths and growth areas per competency with the supporting evidence. They do not see your personal report, and the transcript of your conversation with Claire is not shared with the employer.

What language is the assessment in?

The assessment runs in the language the portal is set to, and it is fixed for a given assessment when it is created.

To change the interface language, open the avatar menu in the top-right corner of the portal and pick a language under Language. Do this before you start an assessment if you want it in a particular language.

Analytics and privacy

The first time you open the portal you are asked whether we may measure how you use it. Here is exactly what that covers.

What we measure. How the platform is used: which screens you open, which buttons you press, how long each step takes, and whether things fail. It is the kind of information that tells us an explanation is being skipped, or that a step takes far longer than the page promises.

What we never measure. Your conversation with Claire. Not what you type, not what Claire replies, not the transcript. When we need to know how much you wrote, we record a number (how many characters, how long you took) and never the words themselves. The same goes for your name and your email address. Neither is ever sent.

Who does it. PostHog, a product-analytics provider, hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt) and acting on Wiselook's behalf as a processor. Your data does not leave the EU for this.

Why. To improve the assessment experience. Every change we make to the onboarding, the timings we quote, and the help we offer is guessed at today; this is how we find out whether it actually helped.

What "Only essential" means. We still count usage, but anonymously: no cookies, no browser storage, nothing that identifies you, and no session recording. You are counted, not tracked. Choosing it changes nothing about your assessment or your report.

If you accept. We can connect your activity to your account, which is what lets us answer questions like "do people who read the introduction finish more often". Screen recordings may be captured with all text masked: every word on the page, including the entire conversation, is replaced by grey blocks before anything is stored.

Short surveys. Now and then we ask one or two short, optional questions, for example about your experience after you read your report. If you answer, your answers are stored with PostHog and linked to your account. They are the only words of yours we keep, and only because you chose to write them. If you chose "Only essential", we never ask.

Changing your mind. Your choice is remembered in a cookie on this site. Clear this site's cookies in your browser and the banner returns, so you can answer differently.

Something looks wrong, or I need help

Contact whoever administers Wiselook at your organisation, usually the person who invited you. They can see your assessments, re-assign one if something has gone wrong, and raise it with Wiselook if needed.

Wiselook does not provide support directly to the people taking assessments, because your organisation owns the account and decides who takes what.
